Famous Civil Rights Leaders in Atlanta
It contains a grand foyer, The Yolanda D. King Theatre for the Performing Arts, Bookstore & Resource Center and various works of art from across the globe. The foyer features art from Africa and Georgia, and the paneling lining the staircase is from the Sapele tree which grows in Nigeria. At present, Freedom Hall’s second floor is utilized as exhibit space honoring Dr. and Mrs. King, Mahatma Gandhi and Rosa Parks. The Eternal Flame symbolizes the continuing effort to realize Dr. King’s dream of the “Beloved Community,” which was his vision for a world of justice, peace and equality for all mankind. In 1968, after he was assassinated, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was carried upon a farm wagon drawn by mules to Southview Cemetery. Dr. & Mrs. King’s crypt is constructed of Georgia marble, a timeless acknowledgment of his southern roots.

The birth home is one block east of Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. The house great experience,the memorial peaceful just being in sweet Auburn made me think how bless we are wonderful feeling ♥️.. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers.

For the next twelve years, he lived here with his grandparents, parents, siblings, other family members, and borders.
In conclusion, I was very disappointed in this tour because it added no value to a self-guided tour that I could have done on my own. Greetings Ms. Patricia, It clearly states in our tour description. So until your review says, we do tell people prior to booking. Additionally, we email people the same information once they book, to ensure they understand. It is important that clients clearly read tour descriptions prior to booking. Furthermore our tour guide does an excellent job with sharing the history of the area.
On March 21, 1931 Rev. Williams dies in the home of a heart attack. After Mrs. Willies dies of a heart attack the Kings move to a new home at 193 Boulevard. The only ranger-led tour in the park is of Dr. King's Birth Home. All other facilities such as the Visitor Centeer, Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dr. and Mrs. King's Gravesite, Freedom Hall, and Historic Fire Station No. 6 are self-guided. As of March 7, 2022, masks are no longer required for staff and visitors.

Groups (school, family reunion, youth, etc.) are limited to signing up for only 3 tour times per day for a total of 45 people. After signing up a group, the group leader is responsible dividing up the group and seeing that the people arrive for their tour on time.
